Drall is the diminutive form of my first D&D character (First Edition FTW!). Like many people, my RL name sounded pretty good once reversed so I used it for my character. However, it made a name a tad too long for online so I reduced it to Drall.

Erky is my wife's nickname for me instead of given name 'Eric.' All characters are derivatives.

In retrospect I think naming conventions where the first letters are the same and the last changed are easier for people to adjust to and they cause all your characters to be listed in order when alphabetized on the guild page - but certainly not going to change now.

Redlynn is a derivative of my wizards name from back on Might and Magic: The Secret of The Inner Sanctum. Back in the day on the Apple IIe, when you had to draw your maps by hand. My wizard back then was Dablin. Well, make it female and give her Red hair, and it's Redlin or Redlynn . . .

Never did figure out how to get into that last room on Might and Magic . . .

Junk came from surfing in Junk wave while in college.

I've been using Adino for a while for other characters/games. It's a Biblical name found in II Samuel 23:8. He was one of David's mighty men and slew 800 men in one battle.

Good name for a barbarian.

i'm going to follow pattern on my toons' names. based on Viera named from FF Ivalice Alliance

starting with Mrjn (pronounced 'me-yearn)

note: it should have been mjrn.

followed by Krjn, then Ktjn

Lothar (sounds like Lo-tah) is my middle name in real life. Of course thats always taken, so i go with a variant that sounds like Lothane or Lothas in RPG's. I use BigDirtyDave in non-RPG stuff.

MotleyCrue was my bard on EQ when it first came out. 9 Years later He was my irates name on Pirates of the burning sea...So i carried it over...i liked it =)

StanfordMD..well i just thought of a high price school and added MD...BTW he has been renamed in his scheme. He is now MotleyCure

FizzlMizzle...Well i always think whats the worst thing for a wizzard...(well in EQ it was fizzling) so i went with it as a rhyme

Sensaition...well...he's a monk...sensai...then i just added the tion..caue it sounded cool.

Kregart..i have NO IDEA where i got that...just a matter of trying like 15 different adds and subtracts of letter in the name keg if i remember.

My first DDO character was a Ranger named Crucifiction Thorn (after an actual tree) so when I joined MV I kept the "Crux" portion.

BTW Motley - former POtBS player here. Sailed with the Nine Winds on Antigua.

Selenid ,as all the other names i ever used in games like wow , ddo , RoM ... (Tokk,Brill,Imisu,Mrga,Eonis,Remrod and many more), comes from PnP DnD in witch im the DM. So i stole all those names from various characters that have gone true my campaign's in the past few years.

Selenid of Pelor was his name and i admired his play since he was always the one to make the big twist in almost every harder combat. And since he got some awesome gear that sheds light and kicks ass to undead (around level 10 that was) he changed his name to Selenid the Pure.Now he is level 14 and he is still kicking ass to my encounters.

I don't have any fancy explanation of my character's names, I just try to come up something that suits the race.

But Entalgo is a name that I first used in the sci-fi style MMORPG 'Anarchy Online'. When coming to DDO it still fit in the fantasy genre so I used that as my first DDO character's name. I played Entalgo (rogue) non-pd up to lvl 8. But then I joined MV and rerolled him, and I have been busy rerolling him ever since ;D haha. Therefore him being nr IX atm.

But my character name 'Mireh' and his sirname 'Wizardward' was something that I got help to come up with from the name generators on this site:

If you have a hard time finding a name for a character, or just needs some inspiration, I recommend this site's feature.

Unfortunately, Mireh's name clashes with the naming convention of our officer that has characters names which start with 'Mir', and this has on one occation confused parvo to the extent that he made Mireh an officer.
So it is likely that Mireh might be the one of his kind to use that name. Unfortunately he's very vital, cause I never rerolled him! And now he's at level 5. My highest PD-character ever.

I am still trying to find a naming convention that I feel comfortable with.
The closest in my mind is to start all characters names with 'Ent', but I'd rather have a static part in the middle of the name, since I believe that opens for more variation. Hopefully I'll come up with something soon.

Ent-so-on.....lolol
