Ok, scored my first death last night (yay?), so it's time for wonkey's flunkies to join the list of casualties:
wonks surefire - lvl 3 elf ranger fell to a large group of orcs while defending a farm at the edge of the Cerulean hills. when he got a little seperated from the main group and targetted by pretty much the whole lot. Merciless orcs cut him down when incapacitated, not allowing diehard to work it's magic, and getting him right before the healers saved his butt.
wonks the second - lvl 3 human ranger - while trekking through some sewers in the harbor area, met up with some zombies and kobolds. Wonks ate zombies for breakfast, so seemed like a walk in the park until he ate his first lightning bolt. When he ate his second lightning bolt, he fell back a bit, fighting some zombs beind a corner, but didn't want to abandon the party. Guzzling a couple of health potions, and whipping out his shield, he ducked back out for a look at how the others were doing. He didn't get up after bolt #3
RIP wonks
wonker shadowstalker - 1 rogue/2 ranger - party wiped in kobold assault. Died early, so didn't help matters. Lots of usefull equipment simply not used. *Sigh* Had I been a little smarter and used my equipment to survive, we all might have made it. Sorry guys
wonkee II 2 rogue/2 ranger/ 1 barb elf - Sanjay and wonkee ventured into the lair of a hideous mutated arachnid and its kin. After getting elbow deep in bug fluids (c'mon it's not a spoiler - the adventure is ABOUT bugs), and making our way past some deadly traps (every dungeon crawl has some), we came face to face with a true monster. We crept up slowly, and then Sanjay burst into action, leaping forward and smashing his sword down on the snout of the creature to get its full attention, while wonkee lurked in the background adding to the fray. But, almost imediately, Sanjay was struck numb by the evil god, "Lagdomar", known commonly as simply, "Lag", and started taking huge damage, while wonkee was powerless to stop it. Recovering, Sanjay signalled a retreat to the room before to recover. But, before wonkee realized what was going on, the monster, scuttling after Sanjay in fury, had cut off his escape. It was a choice of trying to run past, hiding in place, or standing and fighting. Seeing the creature much weakend from the first assault, Wonkee lept in swords flashing in vengeance, ignoring the useful talents and equipment that she could have brought to bear, relying on her steel alone to carry the day, as Sanjay pleaded with her in the background to run. Toe to toe, Wonkee and the monster battled, neither giving an inch. Wonkee was certainly hitting far more often, but the creature's every lumbering strike caused grievous harm. Eventually, at the brink of death, the monster let out a screeching roar of triumph, as Wonkee fell unconcious, succumbing to her wounds. Vindictive, the creature immediately fell upon her to finish her off.
Sanjay, having had some time to recover a bit, rushed back in to finish off the creature, and exact revenge. However, without Wonkee's skills to work through the trapped lair, he was forced to retreat, and the vile mutations live for another day.
Destroy them all, Sanjay, destroy them all. Burn the foul place to the ground, and my spirit will dance in the ashes!!!
wonkee III - halfing ranger, lvl 4 - durk's elite, started with me and a brave lvl 2 wiz. Low on healing too.
Those annoying **** (I'll do it myself this time

) hit HARD, when they're barely a nuisance not on elite. We all started some serious kiting around in circles if we got agro...
Very shortly in, we were joined by another lvl4 ranger. Then, not too long after, he got incapped in a fight. We tried to revive him, but no dice (now I know points into heal DO have a point - I remembered the healing kits this time). Boom, one down.
Went a little further, doing well, hit what could be considered a checkpoint. Having lost 1, I suggested maybe we should pull out. The brave wiz said no way, let's DO this, so on we go.
Open door down the hall, closed next to us. We stop by the closed door, and get in a fight. Doing ok. Careful, we can do this...
BLAM!!! Named came out of the open door way down the hall for some reason and NAILED me. Wasn't running on full life cause of lack of healing, so one-shot incapped before I knew what was flying. Stayed around a second to finish the job too. Maybe that's why that brave Wiz made it out alive. Saw me fall and took my advice to run like heck.
Bravo.
Another ranger has been found wandering aimlessly in the forest. Having been trained in the wonkey stables, wonkee IV has been released to find certain doom. Let's see how long he can put it off.
Maybe I'll even give my barb a chance for a bit. NAAAAA, I LIKE running rangers (and ranger/rogues, and whatever other ranger-involved toons I decide to make).
After a bit of not doing it, going back to adding deaths to this first post:
Wonkin Hood (2nd time with this build) 3 fighter/2 ranger archer 1st Carnival quest. Went to Mammoth Valley in search of a philosophical giant with a view to recruit his talents for House P's performances. Over the course of the quest, got a sense that some plot, maybe a big one, is secretly underway. By time of death, the details are still very unclear... Will have to pursue with another Flunky in the future!
Great team, very excited that I got to try this one out. I regret that one can only be a quest 'virgin' once

Very long quest. Could have been tough, but Red's wiz was right on top of things with outstanding crowd control, which made things pretty easy for most of the quest.
A few surprises (Fell must have got a bit of a shock waiting for us in a 'safe' zone, that suddenly wasn't so safe

) but handled well.
It was a very long quest, and maybe we got a bit sloppy towards the end, but I don't think there was any bad play even so.
Got caught and party wiped near completion.
Wonkin entered the fray a bit behind the others, and made the, perhaps unwise, choice to try healing the rapidly falling HP bars of the others, rather than fight. With a bunch of support characters, it might have made more sense for Wonkin to try beating down the attackers.
I think I might have made it out had I cut and run, but couldn't leave the others behind. I thought Red was going to be able to recall. Still not sure what happened...
As usual, lots of pots and clickies that could have helped, unused due to panic. I even knew that I had to take a second and get a 'shield' spell on, but didn't take the two seconds in the heat of things.
Still, without running, I think I would have gone down anyway...
I hope this is sufficiently vague, but if not, I'll be happy to edit, and sorry in advance.
